Now Viewing: nice_boatTag type: General A meme that originated in the initial TV broadcast of the anime adaptation of School_Days. When the final episode of the series was about to be aired, a 16 year old girl in Japan brutally murdered her father with an axe. Due to the infamously brutal nature of the anime's finale, TV Kanagawa figured that the episode would be too uncomfortable for people to watch so soon after such news and so they opted to delay the final episode and replace it with some calming scenery. The shots of scenery also included a shot of a large Norwegian ferry and upon seeing the boat, a 4chan anon commented, "Nice boat." The comment became extra amusing after the finale episode was finally broadcasted and it turned out that the morbid final scene of the anime prominently featured a boat. The comment became a persistent running joke throughout both the Japanese and English speaking fans of the series. The comment was also acknowledged by the creators of the original eroge and they set up School Days booth labeled Nice Boat at Comiket 73. The anime OVA Magical Heart Kokoro-chan made a reference to the meme by featuring a life boat labeled Nice Boat floating down a river of blood.
