Now Viewing: diamond_is_not_crashTag type: Copyright Tag refers to the fourth Jojo_no_Jimyou_na_Bouken story arc. It is also known as Diamond is Unbreakable. It encompasses Vol. 29-47 and debuted in 1992. It was adapted into an anime for the first time in 2016 by David Productions; the TV series ran from April 1 to December 23 and was directed by Tsuda Naokata and written by Kobayashi Yasuko. The characters were designed by Nishii_Terumi. Kanno Yuugo returns to compose the soundtrack for the season, making him the first composer to compose the soundtrack for more than one Jojo arc. This arc is notably the first to receive a live action adaptation in the form of a 2017 movie directed by Miike Takashi, who has directed multiple live action anime/manga adaptations such as Crows Zero and Nintama_Rantarou. The film stars Yamazaki Kento and Kamiki Ryunosuke. While Araki's art style has been consistently evolving, the series is a transition period where the first half of the series features the more muscular looking artwork of the early Jojo arcs and the second half featuring slimmer and more androgynous looking designs. The series also expands on the Stands (stand_(Jojo)) introduced in the previous arc. Starting with this arc, the Stands begin to grow more outlandish in their capabilities. It also shifts to smaller-scale focus with all of the action taking place within Morioh, unlike the globe trotting adventures of the past two arcs, and has a more episodic structure. The series has the smallest body count out of all the Jojo arcs due to the protagonist Jousuke avoiding killing. It is also the first arc to have a predominantly Japanese cast which would not happen again until the eighth story arc, Jojolion, which closely resembles this arc. It was adapted for the first time in the 2013 All Star Battle fighting game. It is set in 1999 in the small town of Morioh, based off of Araki's hometown Sendai. Kuujou Joutarou arrives in the town because he has heard word that one of Dio Brando's henchmen has brought a bow and arrow that grants people it pierces Stand powers. He becomes acquainted with his relative and arc protagonist Higashikata Jousuke who is a Stand user. Jousuke ends up working with Joutarou to search for the bow and arrow. Jousuke discovers that the culprits behind the increase in Stand users are the brothers Okuyasu and Nijimura Keiicho. Jousuke defeats the two of them and befriends them once he learns that they wanted to create a Stand user who can mercy kill their father who was one of Dio's henchmen. Their father has turned into a monster and has lost his mental faculties as a result of being injected with Dio's cells and turned into a monster upon Dio's death. Unfortunately, the Stand Red Hot Chili Pepper ambushes and kills Keiicho and takes the bow and arrow. Jousuke works together with his friends to stop the user behind Red Hot Chili Pepper, but they soon learn that the town Morioh is not as safe as they once thought it was. In reality, there is a serial killer in their neighborhood who has been secretly killing women, disposing of their entire bodies save their hands, in order to satisfy his hand fetish and he has been using his Stand to commit these crimes... Although the setting is based off of Sendai, the live action film was notably shot in Sitges, Spain.
