It is a TV series remake of Bubblegum_Crisis and is also a cyberpunk superhero action series. The anime was aired from October 8, 1998 to March 31, 1999, spanning 26 episodes. It was directed by Hayashi Hiroki who also worked on the fourth episode of the original Bubblegum Crisis. The story is written by Konaka Chiaki. Music is composed by Korenaga Koichi. Characters were designed by Yamada_Masaki. The mechs were designed by Aramaki_Shinji. Like the original, the series features quite a few rock songs sung in-universe by Priscilla Asagiri who is both a rock star and a crime fighter. All of the episodes are named after real life rock songs. As the series is a remake, the series significantly alters the characters' designs. Although the series retains the major characters from the original, their personalities have also been altered although they still play the same role they did in the original. Unlike the original which was cut short, the TV series was able to complete its story. Tokyo, in the series universe, had suffered a devastating earthquake seven years prior. Despite the massive destruction, the city has rebuilt itself surprisingly quickly. In this revived Tokyo, there are a group of humanoid robots that have been developed by the Genom Corporation called boomers. Boomers are able to emulate human speech patterns and some look almost exactly like a regular human. They have helped rebuilt Tokyo and function as laborers and in some cases, middle management. However, they are widely discriminated against by the general public. To make things worse, boomers now and then suddenly go berserk and cause a great deal of destruction, but each instance of this happening is covered up by Genom. Yamazaki Linna is a country girl who moves to this troubled society and gets a job as an office lady at Genom. As a newcomer, Linna sees things differently from others. She is not fond of her job at Genom and is instead interested in the mysterious hard suit wearing vigilante group known as the Knight Sabers who hunt berserk boomers. One night, a berserk boomer chases after her and the Knight Sabers come to her rescue. Linna recognizes one of them as Priscilla Asagiri, whom she had an awkward encounter with earlier. Linna tracks down Priss and insists on joining the Knight Sabers. The other Knight Sabers, Sylia Stingray and Nene Romanova accept her into the group and Linna works with her new companions to stop various mad boomers. The women soon uncover the dark history behind the boomers and Genom's plans for them. . .
