Now Viewing: zanshomimaiTag type: General Zanshomimai/Zansho-mimai (残暑見舞い) are Japanese greeting cards sent from August 8 (the first day of the harvest season) until the end of August. As such, they could be called "late-Summer greetings" in English. These often contain a polite inquiry about the recipient's health. They are usually sold from the post office and as such contain a lottery number. Greeting cards sent from July to August 7 are called shochuumimai (暑中見舞い), "Summer greetings" in English.
