Zeon originated from the space colonies located in Side 3, the farthest area from the Earth Sphere. They listened to the philosophy of Zeon Zum Deikun that mankind was destined to leave Earth and live in space, but his assassination allowed Degwin_Sodo_Zabi to take Deikun's place and turn Side 3 into the dictatorship known as the Principality of Zeon. After their defeat from the One Year War there were still many Zeon remnants and sympathizers that opposed the Earth Federation. They formed their own militaristic factions, such as Neo Zeon, Char Aznable's Newborn Neo Zeon, and The Sleeves.
