The manga debuted in 2006 and was adapted by the studio White Fox into two 13 episode anime seasons in 2012. The anime is directed by Motonoga Keitaro and written by Kuroda Yousuke. Music is composed by Iwasaki Taku who gives the soundtrack an international flavor with vocal songs written in English, French, and Italian and performed by native speakers of said languages. Character designs are done by Nakamura_Kazuhisa. Johnathan Mar, generally referred to as Jonah, is the newest and the youngest member to join eccentric arms dealer Koko Hekmatyar's group. Hekmatyar works for the HCLI, a shipping company that secretly supplies weapons to various groups around the world. Although he is only a teenager of fifteen years, Jonah has plenty of battlefield experience like the other members of Koko's group and has essentially grown up as a soldier. However, he tells Koko that he hates guns and arms dealers, and the irony of him joining her group is not lost on her. Koko, nevertheless, takes a liking to him and claims that she will teach him to accept guns. Jonah works with Koko on various assignments around the globe and grows closer to her and her group and gradually learns that Koko is working on a secret world changing plan, known as Jormungand.
