Technically we have no real way of knowing that one duck actually means 1. Two ducks next to each other does mean 2, but assuming that one duck means 1 is as bold as assuming one "1" is half of "11".

Well, it could also be five plus or minus the quantity of the square root of two multiplied by ten, making the other possible answers to be around 19.14 and -9.14. It depends on if you view the images as integers based on their physical representation or simply as symbols of mathematical variables.
