actually what succubi feed on is male 'life essence', HOW they get it is technically up for debate. Generally accepted as a sexual thing, due it part to to male-centrism that dominates our history, there are very few historical documents stating what they feed on. Most of those documents allude to sexual implications but there are several that state that they function similar to vampires of sorts as well.

I mean, vampires are kind of like cousins to sex demons (incubi and sccubi), since they often seduce their pray to get close to them, so in a weird way they are sort of like sex demons themselves just to a lesser degree and more of a fighter.
