I think he's based off of Shinji Ikari, but not the original EVA series rather the "new" EVA series. A winy brat who doesn't want to fight every battle he's forced to but does so of his own free will when needed. He doesn't like older women because they tease him too much, much like with Shinji.

Rui Kanoya has "Kamille Bidan" written in him. The Mecha resembles more of a Gundam, the liking of lolis... maybe a Char treatment?

Looks like the three ladies are trying to flirt with him before a mission. Could that be how the aliens attack, get the pilots too horny to think straight, so the pilots need 'stress relief' before heading out?
