We're not bothered by it. In fact Gelbooru performs a useful service by giving the idiots somewhere to congregate when we kick them out of here, so they leave us alone.

I have conflicting thoughts on this...

You could say ... it's more of an "elitist" approach on a negative matter.
I've been on dozens and dozens of forums ~ and i saw stuff like that a lot of times.

People go away and leave, and the remaining "oldfags" say stuff like "more quality-users here".
And soon enough the community gets smaller and smaller. The result is usually that theres no newcomers anymore and everything depends on those fewer oldfags whose lines are thined out someday.
I may be wrong in danboorus case though, since it's not a forum or *-chan. They don't neccesarely depend on some sort of "active community" as long as they've build up a huge database.

But yeah ... saying something like that, doesn't improve your site at all.
Everyone could say:
"Our sites and staff getting shittier; but that's good ! Cuz less annoying people here then, DUH !"

I wonder what the japanese artists would say, if they saw this particular thread on danbooru, with people blabbering about "stealing" their stolen pictures.

That's what gets me the most in that thread.

It floors me someone genuinely believes that, when the art they uploaded is stolen from someone else.

There's analogy.
Danbooru is North Korea
Gelbooru is South Korea

Danbooru only let Professional Japanese artist to upload their art and hentais, whilst Gelbooru let everything come into the website no matter how cr*p the art will be.

in Danbooru, you MUST pass CRAZILY STRICT moderation up to 10 even more moderator will review your uploads and there's slot system too (which prevent you from uploading too much art). Moderation can take one week even FOREVER.
in Gelbooru, FREEDOM is yours, you can upload AS MUCH art as you could as long you tag it properly. Heck, even exclusives that aren't in Danbooru is also here as well.

For people on website, I simply don't care.

The new anti spam measure fucks with uploaders low on XP and posts for what I noticed.
There are a few big uploaders that are quite bad with their tagging. And they have been bad for years.

Is 13 years a new record for a necrobump? Biggest one I've seen.

No, don't encourage them!

I remember some troll with a racial slur in their username had bumped some very old topics. Scumbag.

I mean, fair enough, but I think that's an entirely different problem than "necrobumping".
