I watched the first season and absolutely hated it. Korra herself is just supremely unlikeable and causes so much unnecessary grief to everyone around her. The villain is also just both not interesting and the explanation later why he can do what he does is hella stupid.

After the double murder suicide boat scene near the end I was laughing my ass off because it was just so ridiculous what I was even watching. Also all the damage was basically undone because god forbid any consequences actually take place for Korra's stupidity.

I didn't rewatched the show in a very long time ever since it ended so I can't quite give my proper honest opinion on the show and where I stand one way or the other before doing a full rewatch.

But from what I remember, there WERE redeeming qualities and good characters amongst the cast, so I can't say it was "utter dogshit". A true "utter dogshit" show would have 0 redeeming qualities.

I will say this about my watch on the show several years ago: I skipped Book 2. I NEVER watched it.

Arcane is basically the good Legend Of Korra. Everything Korra tries to do Arcane does way better

Wasn't Arcane's season 2 a rushed mess and a huge disappointment? (from what I heard)

I haven't seen much Steven Universe, what I did see didn't really appeal to me. The best cartoon series from the early 2010s in my opinion is easily Gravity Falls, that show still holds up and is just as funny as I remember it being

Season 2 isn't as good as season 1 but it's not at all bad. Korra had book 1 and 2 which are terrible so either way it's still way better than Legend Of Korra. Hell season 1 alone is better than all of Korra

Still not as much of an asshole as Steven towards the end of Steven Universe, at least.

You mean Steven in Future? When he snapped after all the shit he went through? Yeah, what an asshole :/

And yeah Satori, Steven Universe in general is awful.

Eh.
It has it charm and several good episodes, the songs were good, most of the characters I liked. It does have its flaws. It was very bad at balancing the laid-back filler episodes and the heavy story arc focused episodes. And I hated how they sidelined Peridot and especially Lapis. The ending of the show (pre-Future) was rushed, though from what I heard that was mostly CN's fault, cutting short the series after Rebecca wanted to include a gay wedding (homophobic producers meddling a cartoon show's production for including LGBTQ representation? What a shock ¬_¬) but meddling or not that still doesn't change that redeeming the Diamonds was bullshit.
The Movie was good, though not flawless, and Future was almost good, deconstructing the series and showing what Steven was going through, but they ruined it with the cliche "hug the monster" at the end.

But even with its flaws, I wouldn't call the series "awful". More of a mixed bag, with good elements but bad execution.

I can say with full confidence that the second half of Arcane season 2 was way more disappointing than Korra ever could be.

I would argue all of Korra is better than the latter half of Arcane season 2.

I can't put into words just how bad Arcane 2's last four episodes were. Seriously, it's that bad.

Arcane Season 1 = 9/10
The legend of Korra, all seasons together = 6/10
The last four episodes of Arcane Season 2 = 1/10

You know what cartoon show is actual garbage? Something that, unlike Korra or Steven Universe, is truly awful and deserves its hate? Something that made me regret wasting so much time on watching the series all the way through?

STAR VS THE FORCES OF EVIL

That show was GARBAGE. Sure, Season 1 was fun and had promise, but everything went to shit FAST the moment they decided to give fanservice to the shippers, not to mention the god awful execution of the story arc of the series. How can you mess up a show, its premise, its story, its characters, and its ending so badly is beyond me.

YEP! Season 1 was great, but Season 2 made me wish that we had gotten only Season 1. You know a season is awful when it makes me wish that the series had been cancelled when the party was good.
