I heard the comics are awful.

But I'm seriously starting to doubt that they're worse than how the show turned out.

Well the comics were consistently bad, so I suppose in a way, the show is worse. It is very obvious where the dip in writing quality went.

I've only seen the first episode. I hear it gets terrible later.

Idk if I'll continue because it just seems like "super heroes but douchebags and no fun"

I at least had fun with Invincible being a darker superhero story.

When it started, everybody told me to start watching it because "it's not like the others it's good". I told them no, I've seen enough US series to shit the bed in the later seasons, I'll wait how it turns out.

When the second season came along, and everybody really insisted that I should start watching it, because "it only gets better". They've asked me whether I will really wait years until it's done. I said yes, thank you, I have enough things to watch anyway.

And now we are here. Feels good to be right sometimes.

Honestly I gave up on the show when they changed Black Noir. I'm not surprised they managed to fuck up even worse.

The first season is great, I would recommend that you finish it. Unfortunately, it may leave you wanting more of that same quality.

Season 2 is.... alright. Definitely a noticeable drop in the writing quality, but it's not terrible and the cringe politics haven't manifested yet.

If you're the type who finds it a genuine waste of time to watch shitty shows, especially those you fear will not have a good pay off, then don't continue watching after season 2.

What makes it much worse is neither of the Black Noirs actually accomplish anything. Both of them die without even getting revenge on those who wronged them.

I mean I guess it's supposed to say that Black Noir was never all that important, but it having no narrative payoff is disappointing even if that seemed the most obvious direction to go with it.

You know its bad when you fail to make Homelander's death as satisfying as it SHOULD be

Bro, like.... right?! RIGHT?!

What the fuck was that shit? Out of all the scenarios, you make him die by a crowbar? A CROWBAR?!

He starts begging like a little bitch? Offering to SUCK BILLY'S PENIS? Crying and saying he'll eat billy's poop?!

FUCKING HOMELANDER?! THE SAME GUY WHO, IN SEASON 1, COULD FLY INTO SPACE AND NUKE THE WHOLE FUCKING PLANET IF HE WANTED TO?!?!?! THE FUCK!?!?!

And obviously I don't give a fucking shit about the poorly written "oh, but his powers have been removed!" shitty writing deus ex machina technique.

Fuck you Eric Kripe, you fucking piece of shit. Fuck all you hack writers.

I didn't mind Homelander begging for his life. Now don't get me wrong, I could do without the "I'll suck your cock" and especially the "I'll eat your shit" (wtf) bit. But I could see a better version of the finale where Homelander still pathetically pleads for his life, breaking him and showing what he really was behind all that "aura". A fraud. A bully. A pathetic despicable man, who only got so far because of his powers.

Villains ful of themselves becoming pitiful cowards in their last moments is a classic trope. Just look at Light Yagami from Death Note, specially in the manga where he was crying for his life and begging to Ryuk. (Though Light didn't offer to suck Ryuk's cock or eat his shit...seriously what the fuck)

If I anything, I wished his death was even MORE pathetic and brutal. I could think hundreds of ways Homelander could have been killed than with a crowbar. My death of preferance? Homelander losing his eyes.
But yeah, Homelander dying to a crowbar is lame. Even The Deep's death was a bit better.

Heck, fucking DEATH BATTLE gave Homelander a better death scene when he fought Omni-Man. Which also showed what could happen if Homelander actually fought someone who was in equal footing with him and was more experienced with those powers. How do you fuck up so badly that fucking Death Battle of all things one-ups you?

I also wished the climactic final battle was....you know....an actual climax. So much of the advertisment showed destruction, seemingly setting up a world-ending level of a climax, only for the final battle to be in the White House indoors and nothing getting destroyed :/
I also wished Homelander lost in not such a bullshit Deus Ex Machina way.

Didn't people hated the Black Noir reveal in the comic?

Elon Musk called Homelander's death "Pathetic"

Eric Kripke responded with: “Omg I’ll never have a better review ever.”

I hate Elon Musk, but he's right.

Erick Kripke completely ruined the show (which I seriously doubt he was responsible for the greatness that was season 1, must've been a fluke or the actual episode writers), completely dissapointed on all expectations, and his only responses toward the criticism is this petty ass vindication seems to be "oh well, at least I owned the chuds!".

Eric and his team of shitty writers were so obsessed with making Homelander into a trump analouge that they ruined every aspect of him and destroyed everything else about the show.

It is pathetic indeed.
