Name

Her surname, Goutokuji (豪徳寺), is taken directly from the real-world Goutoku-ji temple [1], which is said to be the birthplace of the maneki-neko.

Her given name, Mike (ミケ), is taken from mike-neko (三毛猫) (lit. "three-haired cat"), the Japanese word for 'calico cat'.

Design

Her design is very reminiscent of maneki-neko, with the key difference being her calico coloration, present in her hair, fur, and clothing. She wears a collar and wrist bracelets with brass-colored bells. In her left hand, she holds a koban_(gold) coin, also typical of maneki-neko. In her Unconnected Marketeers portrait, she also has her right arm in the typical "beckoning" position of a maneki-neko.
