Now Viewing: christian_baleTag type: Character A male Welsh actor born on January 30, 1974. Although he was born in England, he predominantly acts in American films. He began acting as a child, debuting in Anastasia: The Mystery of Anna in 1986, but he didn't become famous until after he became an adult. He is most well known for playing Bruce Wayne/Batman in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy. He is known for being a very dedicated method actor, often undergoing an extreme physical transformation for his roles just to get a suitable look for the character. Famously, he lost 63 lbs. (28.5 kg) for the 2004 movie The Machinist to give the film's protagonist Trevor Reznick an emaciated and exhausted look. After the movie was finished, he gained a lot of muscle for his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman Begins. He often adopts an American accent for his films and even maintains this accent outside of the movie. He has won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Dicky Eklund from The Fighter. Outside of acting, he is well known and often parodied for an explosive rant he went into during the production of Terminator Salvation. Shane Hulbert, director of photography on the film, walked onto the set while Bale was filming too many times leading Bale to go on a profanity-filled tirade against him. Once a recording of the rant leaked online, it became meme-fuel and a target of parody with songs using audio samples from the rant and a parody version of Bale appearing on Duke Nukem Forever. Bale apologized for the rant and stated that he eventually made peace with Hulbert.
