I was attempting to upload an image when I got this alert. "You can't perform this action. Reason: " Since it doesn't specify the reason, I don't know what the problem is. The first time it happened was about a month or two ago. At the time, I thought that maybe I had violated a rule or something and stopped trying to upload images. However, I was recently able to upload some more images, so I thought all was well. The image I attempted to upload today is one I've never attempted before. I verified it was not on the site, and I gave it tags. I'm wondering what, if anything, I am doing wrong.

If you're getting that notice, but you're still able to access your account, it means another account that had your IP at some point was banned.

When we ban users, every IP ever used by that account gets banned as well, even if it's already cycled on to someone else, and anyone else who gets it will be blocked by it as well. I've even had it happen to me before on my phone's network.

Unfortunately it's unlikely we can do anything about it. You can send a mail to lozertuser for him to look at it, but chances are you will just need to wait until your IP cycles to a different one again.

Ah. It is probably because I'm using a VPN service. That explains things and makes sense. Thanks for the help.

Update: I signed into a different region and was able to get the image uploaded.

Got same issue but fixed like bakayarou-sama did above.

Solution: if you got the "You can't perform this action", just sign out from Gelbooru, change region on your VPN, then sign in again.
FYI I'm using Turbo VPN

Whenever I try to DM someone, it says that my account is "too inactive to use this feature". I've been a member for nearly four months and made a couple hundred tag edits. Just what qualifies as "active enough"?

Search about it on the forums for christs sake you're not the first one to create alt accounts nor ask this question over and over again.

It seems like they care more about commenting in the forum than making tag edits
