They have developed games and consoles like Neo Geo and Neo Geo Pocket. They are most famous for their fighting game franchises like King of Fighters and Fatal Fury and were seen as rivals to Capcom during the 90s. However, the old SNK went bankrupt in 2000, selling its rights to other companies but the CEO Eikichi Kawasaki was able to get a lot of the rights back and the company is now known as SNK Playmore. They are also famous for frequently putting extremely difficult final bosses in their fighting games and are also very fond of crossovers. Many of their characters have appeared in multiple games outside of their original series and canon and some are more well known for their crossover appearances as opposed to their games of origin. The company's work is known for being especially popular in Central, South America, and the Carribean as well as it's native country. The company has acknowledged the fans from those territories and have included Latin American characters like Angel and Tizoc in their games.
