Unfortunately this really would open up the possibility of [i]bad[/i] tag poisoning. We have already had several users who would upload a large number of posts at once with less than the minimum number of tags, or with a bunch of tags that don't match the image, or a bunch of tags which are just nonsense. Implementing a mass uploader would just make it easier for them to do this.
Mass tagging poses similar problems; even if you can only do it for your posts, there are quite a few users for which that would be a [i]very[/i] large number of posts that they would be mass tagging, and unfortunately reverting them wouldn't be nearly as simple as it is with the moderator mass tagger. In some cases, it would need to be done manually.
The best solution I can give you right now is to upload said images and copy-paste the tags which all of the images will be using, and then go through and add the tags which each individual post needs shortly after. Please remember that if you're going to do this, posts must have at least 5 tags at the time of upload or within a short period after. If they're going to end up with less than 5 tags when you're first uploading them, you should make sure that you have enough time to make sure that they all get tagged properly in a timely manner, generally less than 30 minutes after the images were uploaded. This would still be true even if we did have a mass upload feature. |
