@vicarious_chariot: It shouldn't, the tagging system seems to be taken literally, and not on the feelings/interpretation of the posters. The word boy and the word girl both have very specific definitions about the biological sex classifications of the two. It is in every dictionary. Boys are male children, they have testicles and penises and can produce sperm, and girls and women have vaginas, uteruses, and the ability to birth children. It isn't that hard. Unless you can show me a newhalf with their penis and balls somehow getting conceiving and producing a child without outside medical help they fit into their literal definitions.

If you continue to poison the tags by putting the girl tag in their you are effectively making the tagging system useless. Just because I call myself a billionaire doesn't mean I'm a billionaire. A cat thinking it is a lion doesn't make it a lion. If someone types in 1girl(s) they want to see a biological girl in the photo, not a person who has had implants and has a penis and their balls. If they type in 1boy(s) they want to see biological boy. When someone types in a tag they want that specific tag, if you type in redhead and there are a bunch of brunettes and blondes coming up in the search results that makes the tag useless.

This isn't trolling, this isn't poisoning the tags, this is correcting intentionally mis-tagged posts. If a person wants to see a biological female they are going to type "1girl", "2girls", etc. If a person wants to see a newhalf they are going to type in "newhalf", they aren't going to type in "1girl" and hope for a dick and balls. It isn't that hard. Intentionally misleading people into search results they didn't inquire/look for just ruins the overall experience of the site.

If you are just going to call people whatever they or you deem, you make the classification and tagging system pointless. I have nothing against newhalfs, transexuals, and the transgendered. Everyone is entitled to live how they see fit and to do with it whatever they want as long as they aren't physically hurting other people. If you're straight, gay, bisexual, asexual, whatever, it's fine. That's your preference. It doesn't matter to anyone but yourself. But intentionally poisoning the tagging system to try and force upon others your particular preferences towards biological facts is obnoxious and intentionally making the site by crippling functions.

@Anti_Gendou: Well for the purposes of categorizing and classifying the material (which I believe is the whole point of the tagging system), yes, they should.

Your late to the discussion or looking to cause controversy, as it was long ago decided here that the newhalf tag would be used in conjunction with the "girl" tag, otherwise there would have been no need for you to come along and poison all those tags and uploads to begin with.

Really? Show me this conversation and decision by the administrators and moderators that state that biological males should be tagged with the girl tag. You said that multiple times in repetitive private messages but never provided a shred of actual evidence on this. Instead of addressing my direct points that intentionally mis-tagging—defeating the entire purpose of the tagging system, or the scientific fact that they are not female due to their lack of the corresponding organs.

From my point of view you are the ones intentionally tag poisoning wether it is an attempt to troll/lure/bait people searching for legitimate tags, or trying to push a social agenda, or trying to distance yourself from addressing your particular preferences. When people type in "big_tits" they aren't looking for flat chested girls. And when people type in "1girl" they aren't looking for a man with a set of implants, a penis, and no vagina. Just because you slap a Bugatti Emblem on to a Ford Pinto doesn't make it a Veyron. You are the ones intentionally poisoning the tags.

Found it. This was 6 years ago. I may add it to the wiki because you're not the first to get confused about our tagging policies. Hell, I'm a moderator and the Guild leader and even I had to research this stuff because futa/newhalf/trap aren't my usual fields. Jerl seams more knowledgeable about this.

Whether right or wrong doesn't matter, the tags exist to help people find what they're looking for. In this case more people are looking for chicks with dicks than boys with boobs. The trap tag got re-defined for a similar reason. The #girl(s) tags are used mostly for counting here anyway rather than identifying gender as newhalf is its own gender and trumps girl.

You may still receive a standard warning about tag poisoning for use in our records but as long as you do not continue replacing 1girl with 1boy and such in newhalf posts you won't be in any real trouble here on Gelbooru. Many of your edits may be undone here shortly.

I'd just like to point out that the working definition on Gelbooru doesn't say anything at all about the character being trans, and it definitely doesn't say anything about what the character identifies as. Tags are defined in the context of anime/manga/hentai, where it isn't unusual to find characters who were born that way, or who used a magical transformation that wears off and who don't identify as female, or are a cyborg that can replace their body as they please amd are in a female body as a disguise, etc. Because of this, tags only represent what's actually visible in an image. You cannot see a person's gender identity in an image, so it isn't part of the tag's definition.
