Seriously, I cannot fathom the mindset of Nintendo executives in this current generation. I guess they just assume that since the Wii somehow made them a shitload of money, they need to continually churn out overpriced, underpowered hardware hoping they'll "win the lotto" again.
If you ask me, Nintendo needs a "Gamecube 2" or something of the sort. A console with an actually ergonomic controller (unlike the DS, 3ds, Wii, and Wii U provided). A console that can actually compete with the likes of Sony's Ps4 Pro, and Microsoft's upcoming "Scorpio".
Nintendo is a multimillion/ billion dollar corporation, they can afford to sell their hardware at a loss and make it up with software sales. And, hell, it ain't even all that difficult to match what Sony is offering (at bare least). Gtx 970 equivilant GPU and a horrendously slow "overclocked" CPU from the stone ages? Nintendo should be able to blow that shit outta the water.
Idk, man. It seems like it was WORLDS ago when Nintendo actually cared about offering proper competition to stimulate progress of gaming from both a technological perspective, AS WELL as from a gameplay perspective...
I miss the AMBITIOUS Nintendo of the NES-Gamecube generations... And honestly as a consumer, i find myself dissatisfied with the current selection of video game titles available... (and this is coming from someone with a PC with a gtx 1070, a Ps4 Pro, an Xbox One (fat), and COUNTLESS old school systems like NES, SNES N64, GCN, PS1, Ps2, Sega Genesis, Atari 2600, not to mention all my damn portable systems @_@)

Whoa there buckaroo! Don't go lumping the DS and 3DS with that Wii trash. Those are actually GOOD systems with GOOD game libraries. Two screens with touch technology at the bottom ended up being a not-shit gimmick with useful, practical applications towards gameplay. Probably the only good hardware concept Iwata ever had in his lifetime.
