Screencap Clarification
Posted on: 09/30/11 04:00PM

I didn't want to necro these threads (sorry If I should have), but they don't really give me anything specific to go off of:
gelbooru.com/index.php?page=forum&s=view&id=219
gelbooru.com/index.php?page=forum&s=view&id=1472

The ToS say screencaps aren't allowed, and there are many anime screencaps under the "cap" tag, so I mistakenly assumed that meant only this sort of screenshot:
gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=1050944

Exactly what sort of screen captures are allowed? Only the ones that significantly alter (work put into them) the actual screenshot? I'm not trying to start a "this one breaks the rules too, so blah blah blah," I'm just wondering how many of the "cap" tagged images I see are breaking the rules.

By the way, is this low quality? I was disappointed by how few Nadeko images I liked :(

Thanks

Contrary to the beliefs of you kids, screencaps are allowed on Gelbooru, but only in certain circumstances.

Primarily, they need work put in to them. For example, stitching it together(post #1191717), or making a gif out of it. If you just fullscreen your media player and screenshot it, it'll likely be deleted.

Game CG is allowed, provided it's not shit quality. I imagine most of that stuff can be taken from the games resources though, so screenshots aren't the recommended way of getting those.

Those two examples aren't bad in my opinion, but you can tell they've been screencapped. That'd probably make them likely candidates for deletion.

Fair enough; thanks for clarifying. I'll just enjoy them on my hard drive.
