Hows about, they post IP Addresses for unruly Anons? I know this site that does this, IF an anon(or many) posts garbage constantly that they don't like, they will post their IP address so that everyone can see; kinda like when somebody gets caught with a prostitute and they have their picture up on a freeway board. Public humiliation, I assume it warrants IF they push their luck and there isn't any other way to stop them. There are good and bad things about it though, warnings must be issued before hand thats to say the least.





Well, that's how it goes sometimes. If you have any leads to evident that, let Board Leader know. I trust you are familiar with the Messaging system here? And, unfortunately, there Are obsessive(lonely) people out there that do things like that.

What's the point of publishing an IP address? Humiliation? Is the IP address going to be embarrassed? You can't know me from my IP address, so it's not a big deal. Besides, anyone with even a little Internet savvy knows how to change or spoof an IP address ... and I won't even mention proxies.

As an admin on another board I can see the IP addresses of every single person who accesses the board. I can trace those addresses. I can use WhoIs to look up who owns them. Guess what? At least 99% of the time that information is absolutely useless and the other 1% of the time it's mostly useless. Look up mine. You'll find it belongs to a commercial establishment that's not even located in the same state I'm in. So, if you're the admin on that site you mentioned and it makes you feel big to post someone's IP address, well, go ahead, but all it amounts to is mental masturbation. You aren't hurting anyone by doing it.

I hear the litany "Ban that butthead's IP" all the time. Sure, we do it. Guess what? Many of those trolls are back within hours, or even minutes ... same people but with new IPs. Besides, how about all the people who *share* an IP and don't know each other from Adam? I got banned from a site once. A site I had never visited! Why? After contacting the siteadmin via. email I found out it was because he banned the IP that I was using at the time, not knowing it was a public wireless access point. He banned one user and wound up banning every single potential user who was on that IP whether they had committed an infraction of his rules or not.

If banning cannot work, let me suggest something. When voting a post or a comment, or if you write a comment, you should have to enter a capsha code. You know, write the letters and numbers given by a picture. I know this could be redundant to honest commenter, but it could stop bots and frivolous commenting/voting... at least, theoretically.

The only thing I would suggest, Kanrabrat, it to just ignore it. They could be people from Danbooru, or just a random (possibly trolling) Anon trying to get a reaction out of you. It might be annoying, but it's best to just ignore them and hope they'll get bored.

If that doesn't work, then at least keep in mind there are those of us who do like and GREATLY appreciate your decensoring jobs, and your other thread about how-to dencensor images. And I'm sure it's not just the people who've posted here.

I think Kanrabat has a valid beef here, biibii. It isn't just an annoyance. There is someone (or perhaps more than one person) intentionally poisoning the vote on his posts, presumably to hide his posts and comments from people with the default threshold setting. That's a clear abuse of the voting system. I haven't checked, but I'd like to bet that my own comments on his posts have a negative rating, now, too, because that was precisely what I saw on his last decensor job that I commented upon -- the same -5 rating across the board on his post and every single positive comment about that post. If you have your threshold set at zero then you simply won't see his decensor work. As far as you know it doesn't even exist.

The negative rating has nothing at all to do with the quality of his work. It's entirely about a person or persons attempting to use the system here to suppress his posts (essentially a denial of service attack, in my book) because of a personal agenda against Kanrabat. On my board we'd take care of that by permabanning the person doing it -- no warning or explanation. If you're going to act like an asshole we'll treat you like one. Unfortunately, since anonymous posting is allowed, here, there's probably no way to stop this guy (or guys) from burying all of Kanrabat's posts with large negative ratings. It wouldn't surprise me, since I don't post/comment anonymously, that he (the butthead who's doing this) will try to get back at me by doing the same thing, as well, since I'm an open supporter of Kanrabat's work. That's in the tiny, vindicative, trollish mindset of people like that.

Thank you guys and especially Ferryt, for your support. As you can see, no amount of childish behavior will stop me from continuing to decensor images. I will continue to contribute and I will keep practicing no matter what!
