Tag glitch?
Posted on: 05/12/09 09:56PM

Has anyone else noticed that some older pictures have problems where its first tag would have its first letter missing and its last tag would have its last letter missing?

Take for example here:

gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=349460

The first tag is supposed to be "anise_tatlin" but it's spelled "nise_tatlin".

The last tag is supposed to be "twintails" but it's spelled "twintail".

Has anyone else noticed these tag glitches? I've noticed this on older images, particularly those that have the tags "femdom" and "loli" in them.

Uh, this may have been due to the bugs in the alias thing back... well, way back. I'll check the database to make sure it wasn't something I did recently.

*Edit* I have fixed it for now. Hopefully it will all be fine in the future. It seems that the alias script is removing white space in our database causing it to mess up like that for some images. I'm not sure why it had messed up the later uploaded ones, but it did. I'll keep on the lookout for it reoccurring.

I noticed another glitch with the tags. Whenever I try to add a tag with an apostrophe, I get ' instead... I've had to write queens_blade instead of queen's_blade in the tag boxes because of this...

...On a side note, how are some people managing to add apostrophies into their tags?

Working just fine for me...? Which browser are you using?

This sounds like a failure of your browser to properly translate the code used to actually represent an apostrophe in HTML ("'" is the HTML code for an apostrophe). Can you actually *see* an apostrophe? Try going here:

gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=502790

The tag "queen's_blade" should appear with an apostrophe. If it doesn't then there's something broken with your browser.

I can see apostrophies perfectly fine, and they work correctly in the search box. What I'm saying is that, when I posted a picture and, in the initial post screen's tag box, I put in an apostrophe, it came out as "'" after I hit submit. Of course, I removed that tag, because it was not correct. Recently, when I added a tag to a post that already had a tag with an apostrophe, the error did not happen, so I'm pretty sure that it works fine in the edit post screen and only occurs when you are making a new post...

Also, when checking the aliases, I noticed that the same thing happened to the queens_blade alias there. Since I'm not the one who posted that, I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only on who is experiencing this problem.

Just in case it matters, I'm usually using Internet Explorer, although I have Firefox, too. (I just don't use it as often, because Internet Explorer has a translator in it, which I use to view japanese sites in "engrish") The error is still there in Firefox...

Ahh, ok, the post adding and listing screen is tweaked to work, now checking the alias page.

*Edit* It should now be working fine.
