How do we seach on score?
Posted on: 05/20/09 04:01PM

is it posible to seach images on there score? I tried score:8 and all I got was the chickens.

Could also be nice to do a seach for "score: >8".

Any know the syntax for score seach?

As far as I know there isn't a way to do this, and it would have limited utility, anyway, since the rating system here is inherently flawed -- not because of Gelbooru, but because of the fact that it *is* a rating system. I've discussed this issue elsewhere, in fact, especially with regard to the fact that certain classes of images are automatically given very large negative ratings to keep them from showing up on a search, unless you know how to circumvent this. In other words, it's not being used consistently to actually rate the popularity of an image.

There's a sort of roundabout way you can get what you want, though. Go to "My Account" and then "Options". You'll find a text-entry field labeled "Post Threshold". If you want to search for images with ratings greater than "8" then just enter the number "9" (without quotes, of course) into the text box and click the "Save" button on the bottom right of the display. No image with a rating less than "9" will now show up on any search you make.

That won't work. The pictures will just load as blanks and there will be alot of empty spots. They don't bump valid pictures to the top.

th8827, request that to be done in the tracker. We already do it with the tag blacklist.

No, you don't. Blacklisted pictures appear as blank spaces that can be viewed by pressing the view button, too.

Not since... well a long while ago. It currently filters based on tags in your blacklist and just omits.

It omits blacklisted images, but does not move valid pictures forward. It just leaves a thumbnail-sized white image that takes up space and holds the image's place (and is replaced by the image/link if you press "show/hide"). This way, if you have a popular tag in my blacklist, you might have pages of "blanks" before anything appears.

Could you give me a screenshot of this behaving like that? Thanks.

For future uploads, please upload to sadpanda.us and link them here.

As for the blacklist, it only works the way I described if you search for a tag. I was reading Ferryt's response about searching... While I had considered omitting images from the main listing, I figured using the old way would be better for CPU load reasons. That and other account related ones as well.
