I need a button.

I upload guro images, and I'm sure that you guys have seen the flame wars going on under my pics, created by the legions of anonymous, guro hating, trolls. All the anons do is flame and flame and flame, so I ask you one thing: May we have a button that allows us to bar people from posting anonymously on a certain picture?

Just a simple request, but I would love to build up a small guro community around me. I already have several fellow guro lovers that are fun to chat with, but with all of the flame, I just cannot peacefully talk with my fellow misfits.

Dear, most people, like me, just found them too explicit to bear. And I would love to build up a friendly community here. It's impossible with all the flaming and goru spamming on comments page. Hence, I believe it's a smart move for whoever decide to move them.

No, no button for you. You filthy filthy man!

All joking aside, I thought about that, just banning anonymous comments on guro and a few other tags, but that won't stop people from creating accounts and flooding again flaming how the images suck, which in turn keep bumping them to the top. I also thought about removing bumping on those types of images but that would just make the last few pages of comments have guro on them. We will have to settle on the current system for now.

Besides, it was either this or outright banning of those types of images. I think you would agree with the current way over the banning of it.

What about enabling users to delete/block comments in pictures they uploaded?

No, that is a job for mods. If a user doesn't like a comment, they'll have to suck it up most of the time. If a comment is racially abusive usually it will be deleted. Same with personally abusive. However, if it is not directed to anyone in particular it will remain. I hope that makes sense...

Ah, so you're the guy responsible for my nightmares. What has been seen cannot be unseen! I loathe most of what you've been uploading. It's sick, perverted, and ... um, wait. I think some people say the same thing about tentacles, too, and that's one of my fetishes.

OK ... let's try it this way. Welcome to Gelbooru, NoGameData! Yes, the flamewars have to stop. You're entitled to your filth and I'm entitled to mine, but people are not entitled to be disrespectful to other people.

Anyway, I think lozertuser has solved the issue, at least for now.

Wait a minute, when did That happen?

My mind trick works, although I cannot Unsee something, I can easily forget about it in about a few seconds only coming back IF confronted with that content again. Yes, there are pro's and Con's Associated with not having a Vivid Memory.

I personally don't believe that a guro community is all that desirable here; maybe there's another place like, eh, Gorubooru that would be more appropriate for that kinda stuff? Furries have their place, Anime Pr0n Goers and Anime In general Goers alike have this place. We can all come here, but Will we really feel as comfortable then when we are within our own preferences?

I'm just saying, I don't want Gelbooru to be known as a place to goto for Goru. Just like when I came here for Pr0nz and was later informed that this wasn't a Pr0nz site, despite the content seemingly appearing otherwise.

Maybe, it would be best to categorize things here, like they do on ImageFap. Same Database, Different inlets. Anime for the Anime Fan, Hentai for the Pr0nz goer, and so on.
General to Specific, block what we know we don't want, the rest is fine and we can fine tune it further ourselves.

Yea. If you go to a Hippie Concert you will never see Slayer playing next to the stage.

Extreme Genres should have a seperate place

Guro is very extreme and causes kind of breakdowns for me.
Thats why i blacklisted ist.

I don't want to know what i see when i delete the filter.

I avoid to link to gelbooru because i don't want to hear "not that guro site again" or get banned from boards because of guro site linking... (really i got admonished for this on a board)

Its a nightmare that Gelbooru becomes a Guro site.
I think there are many places where guros are under their own sort.

Guro liking users on gelbooru are probably less then 1%

Dude, the amount of guro being posted here is hardly much compared to the rest of the images on this site. It's just a few users emptying their collections onto the board.

Stop pushing for content bans and get over it. Or better yet, post some more non-guro images to balance things out.

However, why the heck did NoGameData keep posting comments on his own images? Has he been trying to troll and provoke responses or something?

Thref, I have a very vivid visual memory. Trust me. I can't just forget that I saw something. Your mind trick doesn't work for all of us. Unfortunately, there is some stuff typically tagged "guro" which is not, in my book, "guro", so I can't just blacklist it and make it go away. I'm pretty good at glancing at an image, though, and something just "clicks", telling me it's guro and I don't want to pause, even for a moment. Scat and watersports, two more of my "turn-offs" don't register quite so quickly most of the time, but those I can safely blacklist.

Sooo ... I'm left with having to leave guro visible. I *do* believe that we should have an easily toggled option to turn guro, scat, and toddlercon on and off, without having to click through to our account pages. Have these toggles off by default and those images are no longer available to the public without going out of your way to make them visible.

ShanOr, you've probably already figured it out. While I don't like this stuff, myself, I think it belongs here. Guro, scat, and toddlercon, the current "black sheep" of Gelbooru, are still part of the hentai genre, even if they are niche sub-genres. If we start disallowing any particular class of hentai/anime, what's next? Loli? Rape? Tentacles? At some point will we just be left with work-safe anime and missionary position "happysex" images? Yeah ... slippery slope argument, but I think it's a valid one to make my point. Don't step on the slope in the first place and you don't take a chance of sliding down.

And grgspunk makes a very good point that we all need to take notice of. There isn't that much guro being posted here. The problem for some of us is that the posts come in long strings, so that a given page might have a significant proportion of guro. When people see that they tend to make assumptions about all the content being posted.
