Deleting own posts: and rules about comments.

Hi,

1) I was wondering if it is possible to delete posts (images) uploaded by you. I noticed that there are two commands: "tag for deletion" and "delete". I tried using the latter which prompted me to enter a reason for deleting but then nothing happened. Can someone clarify how this works?

2) Is there a set of rules somewhere about what can and cant be posted in comments under images? I've noticed quite a few normal-looking (meaning not vulgar or random etc) comments ending up hidden (which I assume is the equivalent of having been moderated/deleted) and I'm trying to understand what can and can't be posted.

Thanks!

1) I believe the "delete" option is currently for mods & admins only. I'll let lozertuser answer that as he know more about that.

2) Moderation on comments are community-driven; registered accounts can vote up or down comments. That is what you are seeing. Low rated comments are hidden when they're below a certain threshold (which can be set in your account options; default is 0).

We used to allow deleting your own posts however I recently removed that bit.
