Movement against loli's?
Posted on: 11/18/14 09:49AM

From what I heard Rule 34 Paheal is going to remove submissions with nude loli's in it. They are afraid the site might get shutdown by agencies who are beginning to censor these things.

Is the same going to happen with Gelbooru?

It's very unlikely. We have been willing to go as far as dropping entire ad networks and switching to a new registrar in the past. Unless loli is directly declared flat out illegal at a federal level or we are asked to remove it from the site by legal authorities, it's unlikely to be pulled from the site at this time.

Paheal's removal of this content has already been going on. They were so paranoid about it that they removed content by copyright and not by underage portrayed characters as they should. For example, a major target for removal was Lilo and Stitch, which was removed in its ENTIRETY with no regard to of-age characters, or characters being portrayed as adults. (Which had to re-uploaded later)

Some websites don't want to be blocked in certain countries. It is their choice to comply or not when a government agency of a country (likely Russia these days, sorry to pick on them) addresses a website. Some websites will be blocked without being contacted though. You'll know which ones, because the webmasters complain about it. (Probably justified complaints)

Gelbooru is already blocked by Russia.

Hilariously, Chinese users can visit...

Now it's blocked again ( antizapret.info/index.php?search=gelbooru.com ) but even when site have been restored I were unable to use it as search engine was always overloaded. We got hysteria here as government tries to block loli, hentai and now even ecchi from any image board they found for child porn. To make it worse, there is a cooperation of 'Interweb warriors" who spend their free time reporting such images, even for sites that require registration to view them.

Either way, I suspect loli will be the death of Gel.

I agree. Its getting ridiculous how much of it is starting to appear on the site. And I mean drawings of KIDS! Its like your waving a red flag in front of the bull. I don't know which countries host your servers, but even in America, it IS actually banned. The law just hasn't been enforced yet.

Lol, I see Russia has banned rule34.xxx as well.

For people like me (99% of the population) who don't want to see girls lower than about 15, its sucks having to wade through all the loli just to find one decent pic. One of the worst categories seems to be Bondage.

As this stuff rears its ugly head, its just a matter of time before Huge Government Agencies (The United Nations / InterPol for one) start raiding servers.

And as Zombo said, monitoring groups are already voicing complaints to Government Agencies.

Best thing to do is start clearing it out. Either that, or split if off to another website, so you don't lose Everything when the hammer comes down.
