I distinctly remember this being translated with notes (because as I was saving it, I remember thinking about how it won't save that but it's ok because it's pretty basic and I can read that much). It's even tagged as translated.

Why don't I see notes? This isn't the first time, and I see them on at least some other pictures when I search "translated." Did somebody simply delete them for some reason? Bug? Government conspiracy?

Tag updates + initial import == No notes seen.
If an image is downloaded and there are no notes, the notes will not be updated. I recently ran a sync to copy tags over to our images and translated was one of those added to images that had no translation yet. If you wish to fix it you can always use IQDB and find the image on Danbooru. :D
