So, I use an IPad mostly to browse here, and often times when I see an animated image it just has a play sign and that's it.
Anyone know a way around this?

You need a browser that can play webm files to watch those, like Firefox.

It should be noted that there is no browser for iOS that supports flash without basically screen sharing with a desktop computer that has a browser that supports flash. This may cause the video to be choppy or lower-quality.
