Personally, I'm fine with the voices in their original language (JP), or even English, since it's my second language.
It depends, usually I try to find an English dub, or one in my native tongue. But I also watch dubbed stuff, but it is stressing, you have to watch what's going on on screen while reading the text as well, and often they have lots of subbed text in short time, since many dubbers only keep the text on screen when people talk, even when the time span is too short to read it all, and then there is 6 seconds of silence (and the dubbed text long gone) and me thinking "you dorks, you could have kept the subs on screen a bit longer, everyone is clever enough to get that it's the same dialogue from just 2 seconds ago", but no! I either have to skip that detail or stop and go back... </digress>
Voicing in my language (French) is just cringe inducing in every game it's being done. Whereas anglophones think English voicing is embarrassing, I don't really notice it, since I don't really know how "cool" English voicing is supposed to sound like.
VA is usually okay in my native tongue, unless it's hentai. I don't even read hentai in my native tongue, I always look for the English equivalent. Dunno why, but in my native tongue either the translators are using more rude/insulting terms than the English translates, or it just appears more rude to me, or maybe the English version is more distant, somehow, since it is fantasy, while in my native tongue it is to close at home and therefore feels too "real", dunno...
Final Fantasy XV vs
I just saw what you did there.
I think I don't get it... :-P
