Advice for uploading images
Posted on: 12/02/16 07:54AM

I have two questions about some pics I'd like to upload that I got from pixiv on mobile:

1. I've noticed that my dimensions and the dimensions of other images in the same "set" uploaded by danbooru have different dimensions, and upon looking into this I found the md5 mismatch tag, which mentions a pixiv dimension change in mobile comic mode which is where i got the pics from. Is it okay to upload those pics still, and should i tag them with md5 mismatch?

2. I have some extra pics belonging to a set where only the first couple of pics were uploaded here according to iqdb. If i only upload the remaining pics i feel like it wouldnt be "grouped" with the other half as those were uploaded before. Is it okay to reupload those?

Oh and also, will this dimension change make it so that iqdb wont recognize my pics even if they have already been uploaded?
(Due to some connection problems i am unable to easily access these photos in full display mode, so going back and getting the full versions is not really an option)

Resized images are not allowed. If you're experiencing connection issues, try again later. Select the option to display full desktop version in your mobile browser.

Don't download from mobile comic mode. If the better version is uploaded those others with the mismatch will be deleted.

We don't care if posts aren't grouped together but if you want you can put them into a pool.

Flickr, a picture hosting site for photographers, allows a user to "replace" an image after uploading it. That way the tags, comments, memberships in pools, etc. are left unchanged but a better version of the image can be substituted. Is there anything like that available here?

No. Just upload the better version and flag the other for deletion.

Trying again later is not an option for the connection problems I'm having (until in a couple of months)

So the mismatched versions can be like an intermediate thing? I might be able to access the pics properly in a couple of months, should I upload now and replace then or just dont upload and do it when i get it working

I would wait until you can upload the full version. You can also ask in the requests thread for someone else to download and post the full-size version for you.
