Most sites are, and for fair reason, it is income. Sites cost money to run, advertising pays since most users won't. *waves*
Depending on the site, various advertising services will be used likeGoogle Adsense (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AdSense). Such services will advertise for multiple companies.

Inb4 images are gone to, what you gonna do then bruh?
Leave the site or wait for some code to bypass the block on that. No site is worth risking a PC I spent a couple of thousand dollars (NZ) on.
True, but technically you'd just be risking the Hard Drive right?
Sadly in this case, it seems to be that adblock's 3rd party stuff like easylist that is blocking regular site functions that don't have anything to do with ads. That's what Gelbooru is claiming anyway so that's all I know about.
Saw a user on an adblock forum about Gelbooru also blame a 3rd party though so I'm going with that.
In otherwords, as I understand it, it is something that neither Gelbooru nor adblock can fix.

Last time I had that problem, I had the installation disc for my XP OS (it was a few years ago now, 7 was the newest then) to keep me in the safe even if a full wipe was needed. At this point, I'd be a bit more buggered in that case. I'd need to buy a Windows 10 installation or go to Linux to save cash (which has the annoying problem of reducing my Steam library from thousands to a few hundred playable games).
