Earth Defense Force 4.1 on the PS4. The "B" movie of video games. The plot is stupid, the voice acting and writing and abysmal, and it's rounded up to the most awesome game play yet for the PS4. Giant Spiders, Ants, Space Ships, Mechas, Godzillas, Aliens, Dragons, etc is all out to kill humanity. It's a nonsense "shoot everything" kind of game that goes split-screen even!! Been playing it with several friends on the campaign mode, both offline and online. Also you go into ragdoll physics when you're kicked around by the giant mobs. Love it. Best $20 I ever spent this gen.

Been revisiting Megaman Legends also. Man, that game was ahead of it's time. Because the 3D graphics were stylized, it holds up pretty well. A lot of the characters are very expressive. I just really like that title. Still mad at Capcom for canning the 3rd game for the 3DS. That was the main push that made me pick up that handheld in the first place. Well. That and the disapointment that was Paper Mario Sticker Star. Guys. How do you remove leveling, party members, and the open world and call it an RPG. No badges, flower points, and unless you're working under Bowser, everyone's a Toad. So badly wanted to like that game ... they even removed Kammy Koopa. That said, the soundtrack was pretty solid.

Got Nier Automata recently, when time permits I want to sit down and play through it proper.

The first 2 playthroughs are 2 different perspectives up to the same stopping point. But it doesn't really feel like you're replaying things too much since you're not allowed to repeat any sidequests you did in playthrough 1 and the character you control plays completely different. And well.. Playthrough 3 is.. really interesting- without spoiling anything it's all I can say. There are 26 endings for every letter of the alphabet but only A-E are the main ones.

Yoko Taro really did well at not revealing much about the game pre-release, still- just like in the first Nier, I would skip over the the menu movie you get if you don't start the game fast enough. In the first Nier it was filled with spoilers and it's not as bad this time but still better to experience everything with less predictions.

I've also started playing Resident Evil VII: Biohazard because my GF's been wanting too see it. I've skipped it over until now just because there have been way too many goddamn games released in the last few months I've wanted to play. I still haven't gotten Nioh but I will in a few weeks.

the last few months have just been crazy fucking good for japanese games in general. Nioh even made the NPD top 10 for feb! it sold more than Halo fucking Wars 2(which didn't chart).

Ooh I want that, but that would mean having friends who'd want it too because why would I want to play that alone? It's totally one of those games you just have to play with friends

Recently I've been replaying Metal Gear Solid, as I got a ps1 about a week ago. As for more recent games I've been playing a lot of Fallout 4 and New Vegas recently.

Ah, so the other best game ever. A most wise choice. And man...New Vegas. I'd LOVE to say it's the best Fallout I have ever tried but can't cause it runs like shit after 15 minutes tops. And that's the complete edition. Oh, well. Sad face. Maybe time to start from scratch.
