API request gives me a 404 error
Posted on: 05/14/17 08:26AM

I'm using twitter_dbooks (github.com/stawberri/twitter_dbooks) to run a bot that takes images from Gelbooru and tweets them on a bot account. Everything was going fine, until recently, when suddenly every time the bot tried to generate an image URI Gelbooru returned a 404 error (OpenURI::HTTPError: 404 Not Found). I managed to circumvent this issue by changing the default URL value on the bot from gelbooru.com to gelbooru.com/. However, although this allows the bot to post images, the resultant URIs have double slashes (gelbooru.com//images/some_image_url). Keep in mind that the bot posted fine up until yesterday, when it suddenly started having this issue. Did you guys update the site or something?

The API loads just fine for me with a single slash.

By the way, please do not directly link to images on Gelbooru. Link to post pages instead.

Well, that second part won't be an issue- the bot just downloads the images from direct links, the links that are posted in the tweets are separately generated post page links.

API was not updated. If you are getting a 404 for images, it's maybe something to do with loading from simg4 or assets? I can't say for certain which subdomain you are loading from.
