Images keep resizing into samples

Recently some images began showing as samples, although I chose the "always open full images option" (long ago). The checkbox "Resize images" in my account options seems to do nothing. Can this be fixed?
Browser: Mozilla Firefox, latest. Seem to be working in Chrome, but the checkbox seems to do nothing there too.

It's working for me in FireFox. Are you sure cookies and Java Script are enabled?

Yes, they are enabled. Oh well, then probably my browser became broken again. :(
