Potential Double-Standards

Gelbooru being a Japanese-based site is fine, but the adware (specifically, the pop-under ads and for a time when they were present intermission ads) you people host is frequently not very Japanese-themed. I'd say those kinds of "watch my gf", "fuck an old lady tonight", "why PAY for a fuck buddy" etc. are due to be measured in the same light as posts on this site, and I'd wager they'd have not a chance of ever getting past any of your moderators. I know you don't see exactly what kind of ads all your users, members, guests get to see whilst browing this site, due to the methodologies behind the sponsorship--I won't pretend to understand--but the least you could be doing is ironing out your outright hilarious double standard--all the ads should reflect what content you host, potentially compromise its relevance and dignity (as Japanese-themed).

It was years ago, but Danbooru used to be sponsored by J-List-- I can't think of a more suitable arrangement than that. Very cognisant of that site's status as a mostly pixiv-derived image aggregate site. Can you guys make an arrangement like that with some site? Maybe the economy is just different now.

We don't really have much choice over what ads display. We can drop an ad after it's started showing, but we have no control over who buys it from our ad provider.

An arrangement like Danbooru's with J-list would be nice, but remember: that very arrangement is why loli is behind a paywall. Just about every option like that would require us to either put loli behind a paywall or even completely disallow it.

The rules regulate posts, not ads. But, for the sake of the argument, let's wave your claim through the bullshit filter without questioning it's validity. Basically, you're complaining about the ads not being targeted at you.

That's such a non-issue. No matter how I look at it, you dun gooft.

And aside of all that, you can complain about the services provided by public organizations, or whatever is funded by your taxes (assuming you pay taxes). But Gelbooru isn't such an entity. It's a privately owned service, which doesn't even have shareholders. Gelbooru can break it's own rules all day long and you still wouldn't have the right to complain about it. That would be the same as me walking into your home and telling you how to arrange your furniture. Because fuck what you want, I'm the master of your home now. Get it?

Why a long political speech every time? I think Jerl's explanation was enough.
