Require Assistance - Nook Tablet
Posted on: 01/08/18 07:50PM

Archaic, I know, but I tend to use Gelbooru on my nook tablet. Lately though, I'm unable to load any images whatsoever. This isn't the first time this has happened, last time it just fixed itself somehow. I think it has something to do with site updates clashing with my older hardware, or that I can't turn off the adblocker on my device. I turned off the "Block Popups" option and that changed nothing, and I can't find any solutions at all online.

Please help.

Additional: Saw someone mention that due to problems with ads on this site right now, a possible workaround would be resetting one's password. I did it, and it did not work.

Which browser does the Nook use, which version of the OS is it?

I think it's Android-based.

Uhhhh, let's list off some random stats from the device...

Software Version: 1.4.3
Adobe Air License...

Dunno what else to say, honestly. It's got the same software on it as when I first got it a few years ago.

(By the way, since I have an admin's attention, love the site! 10/10)

Which browser does the Nook use? Are you able to install Firefox or Chrome on it?

I haven't the foggiest aaaaaand probably not. I only started having problems around...Late November? Mid-December? Like I said, I've had this problem before, and I think it got fixed with an update that went out a few weeks thereafter.

This general FAQ page is all I could find, being as it's such an archaic device.

Ah, we didn't change anything in November/December UI wise... I can't really help you debug as I don't own a Nook Tablet... Sorry! :S

(If I did, I'd install a new OS on it entirely, lol.)

Damn...Well, it might have been earlier. Definitely within the last few months. My memory isn't worth a shit anymore. Like I said, I think it has something to do with the built-in adblocker, since I can't find any conceivable way to turn it off. From the red "Trouble loading images?" banner at the top of every screen, I would assume that the fact that ads dont load on the tablet (for this website, they still work on other similar sites) might have something to do with it. I tried changing my ad settings, to no avail. Do y'all inhibit content for people who run adblockers?

Like i said, ads dont appear on this website for me at all on my nook (theyre still kinda there, I just can't see them).

Let me know next time an update/patch goes out. If the problem abates itself, I'll be sure to let you know. Thanks for your help!

Adblockers inhibits content for people who use it. I'd suggest checking your router or Nook documentation to figure out why it's doing what it is doing.
