While hetero + shota should bring up the same results, why delete a popular tag? Additionally, not all posters will remember to add the hetero tag when they initially post an image as hetero is the default for most images posted on a hentai site.
Additionally, that erased all the work of those would made an effort to label straight_shota images.

TLDR this thread?
hetero + shota brings up all the same results that straight_shota did and then some because I added shota and hetero to all of the posts I removed the straight_shota tag from and further populated the hetro tag as well.

As someone who used the tag a ton, I would run into the problem where someone might tag a post that should've been tagged "straight shota" only as "shota", making it not show up in that search. It leaves a wider margin for erroneous tagging, as well as redundancy for having to tag a post shota, straight shota AND hetero. Having a single shota tag makes searches more accurate.
Also, in a semantics issue, it'a weird to have a "straight shota" tag but no "straight loli" tag.

Gelbooru is an English-language gallery for Japanese-themed art. We only allow western characters if they are made by Japanese artists or in a Japanese style. We are allowed to make exceptions for very high-quality work but that is rare.Western characters by western artists are not allowed. This is a rule in our Terms of Service. The category of straight shota, or any category, has nothing to do with it.
