Gelbooru is a Japanese-themed English-language site. All translation notes and comments should be in English or Japanese unless the image is clearly themed after another country or language.
So, I just got back from a language course in Japan, and I'd like to try my hand at translating. I've only really been a passive use so far, so how exactly do I get in on this?
Images that demand translation have a 'translation_request' tag. Search for images like that then use 'Add note' to add an onscreen bubble that you can edit. Once you're done, replace the 'translation_request' tag with 'translated'.
Bonus tip: You can add a translator's note with this: <tn> </tn> But I don't know if there are any other tags like this e.g. to add color.
I've been translating quite a lot on this site, to keep my language muscle trained. Mostly images that I feel people want translated, and mostly in the work I'm interested in. Outside of translation_request tags and popularity of the images, is there any good way of finding out where the demand for translation is?
