I kinda see where you are coming from, I also felt a bit weird the first time I used it. But I'm just glad that they added that feature so quickly when people complained about troll comments after they removed the downvote thing.
That text such a small thing, that I just ignored it and now it doesn't bother me at all anymore.
So yeah, it's just a joke, no one will treat you badly when using it, just don't think about it too much :)
