The "non Japanese" art and artist rule.

Not trying to be rude or tell people how to run their site but what's the reason for this rule? Does the creator/owner just not like Western art and media? This is my favorite imageboard and I hate seeing pictures I like disappear. (But considering politics I wouldn't be surprised if the government does a Tumblr on the internet and bans all porn.)

This is what the owner of the site wanted. Originally it was "Art from Japanese artists only" but the rule has since been relaxed (around 2011) to allow western drawn art of Japanese characters or art drawn in a Japanese style.

We usually state this in the following way: "Gelbooru is an English-language gallery for Japanese-themed art."
