But if we're going to argue with numbers how technically *something*, over my history I made less than 30 comments yet I have over 5k favorites so you can't say I "have to talk dirty to the pictures", cause technically I only commented on <0.6% of pictures I viewed.

I'm not really sure where you're getting that info but okay. The Comments line in the info under your avatar in your account info I'm fairly certain is your comment score (mines -20, go figure. Too many people with hurt fee fees I guess.) Though its not possible to downvote comments to oblivion anymore for exactly that reason.

Regardless, in the howto:comment section (gelbooru.com/index.php?page=wiki&s=view&id=207) it lists not to do the exact shit you do. While I don't think its explicitly part of the TOS, maybe it should be.

I'm getting that info from personally knowing what I've been doing on the site. I can easily expend this site's bandwidth & scrape all my favorites & see how many comments I made on those 5k pictures. But that would be profusely silly, so you'll have to just trust me that I only made very little number of comments overall. And it's because it's only been recently that I decided to interact with the site at all.

The "Comments" number on your account definitely has nothing to do with your comment score. Nearly everybody's comments is negative and it keeps going down even though there's no downvote button. As far I can tell: it used to count how many comments you have, and when your comment is deleted the number goes down by 1 as well. But at some point, the former broke so now the number can only go down. That's just the theory anyway, cause it doesn't explain why mods have negative number as well unless they remove their own comments sometimes.


You really persist in maintaining this strawman that I'm somehow bitching how mods are deleting my comments (and in your mind, that's why I made this thread) when that isn't why I made the thread at all. Believe it or not, I want Gelbooru to maintain quality just as much as you do (open to interpretation is what quality is).

So if mods want to maintain some sort quality in comment section, they should also tell the users what they don't want when they delete comments, otherwise the users are just going to keep posting the same shit again (duh). The number next to your comment listing was the number of comments you have on this site. It worked in 0.1 but was broke in 0.2 and never fixed. It only goes down when a comment is deleted. I may have easily made over a thousand comments in the past 10 years, many before I became a mod. It's not surprising I have -272 comments.

It's too bad this isn't really reinforced, except the "don't be racist or sexist" one. There are "oh yah babygirl take that dick" and "mm it makes me so wet to ride dick like that irl ;)" comments abound all over the site... and the latter is usually fucking highly rated by neckbeards.

Both of you who complained about comment quality still failed to produce an example what good commenting looks like in your opinion, even though I've given you the opportunity to do so. Yep. The best way to gear a community toward what you want is to be totally uncommunicative about it and just call people neckbeards until they concede.
