I totally understand the owner's decision on the avatars and that little change in the browsing but as I said, a notice could've save a lot of explaining and unnecessary threads like this one.
Many of us understand, we agreed to the terms of use since the day we created an account obviously. It helps filtering undesired peopled in the page too.
You don't agree with the recent changes and the reason behind them? It's fine, you're in your right and can leave anytime you want.
You agree with the changes? It's fine too, just do a little adjustment to your settings and keep browsing your favorite tags.
Small details show that the owner cares about the people who make the website.

That notice in the red bar at the top of the page was put there within hours of the change. As of me typing this, it's still there.

An automated private message system could be taken in consideration, as you now noticed most of us here aren't technologically educated that even a simple message like that didn't get noticed.
