I logged into the site today and saw the green message showing “you have mail” at the top of the screen. I clicked on it, but when it took me to my inbox, nothing appeared. Still, despite nothing being there, the “you have mail” message is still there, and I can’t seem to figure out why. I regularly chat with people so it’s not a surprise to know I have mail, but I was surprised to see nothing appear when I clicked onto my inbox. Anyone have any idea about why this could be?

Well, looks like it figured itself out because now the message disappeared. Odd.

The problem is because of it i get redirected to the mail box (which I believe is a intentional feature) when i try to tag any post so until it goes away i can't contribute

A spam bot has forced everyone to have messages, but should have been resolved and messages cleared up. I'll see what is going on. The message will go away if you view any message in your inbox, but some users never receive one, so I've moved the check code on the list as well. Visit the url again and it'll resolve itself.

I write, press send and when I check my outbox- it doesn't appear there. It's worked always, up until 5 mins ago. Yes captcha was always completed. I wanna send more mail to see if it works but i don't wanna accidently spam the person I'm talking to

If you checked the "send as notice" checkbox, the site discarded your mail because only staff can send notices.

@Jerl yeah actually I did that a couple times cos my other mail wasn't sending at all anyway
