the thing is i dont want to block all comments because i feel like im missing out on something like an image thats been posted long ago but suddenly has a comment but in reality i suppose im not really missing much

Just go for it. Settings -> Options -> Untick "Show comments". I find it massively improves the site, but your mileage may vary.
It'd be a bit tricky to allow selective blocking when Gelbooru allows anonymous commentary. Either it would allow a workaround to reveal anonymous commentators (if their anonymous comments disappeared), or the block would become instantly ineffective as soon as anyone you blocked used the anonymous function (if their anonymous comments remained visible to you). I'm personally in favor of keeping the anonymous option, even as someone that doesn't use comments.

at this point i think the anonymous option is really kind of useless considering you have to enable loli in your options anyway and logging in for me takes like what? another 3 seconds and im on the page anyway.... but thats just me.... and i cant disable comments something inside me just screams that im missing out its an internal battle of suffer with comments or disable them and feel like a constant gaping hole is inside me *sigh* i really cant win

You will never be missing out on anything by disabling comments. Trust me. I've been moderating them for 8 years.
