So every time I come back, I have to recheck the box that says "display all site content" despite saving the setting each time. Slightly more than annoying, less than a pain in the butt.

The setting uses cookies. Make sure cookies are enabled and you aren't using private browsing. Also, the setting is only stored locally in your browser for users who need it to be set different on different devices, so if you're signing in on a different device each time, you will need to set the setting each time.
