So what's preventing the new one uploaded today from remaining, with the clause allowing exceptions? It is not a dupe as the old one was deleted and removed from the site six years ago, as you just said. How can it be a dupe if it is the only one remaining on the site of its kind?

Anything that has been uploaded more than once is a dupe, regardless of whether the first one is still here or not.
Re-uploading something that has been deleted is against the rules and can result in a ban, even if the deletion was incorrect. The correct thing to do is appeal the orignal post's deletion. If the post still has a post page, we still have the image file and can restore it.
If something gets restored, it'll be the original. Your upload will not be restored.

i dont get how can this photo of danmachi be third party watermarked when there is none from what i have seen?
also this pic is basically and official art since its originally from newtype. but without the watermarks.

On the left margin is says "Scanned by Steffi1690 Mayura_chan" We decided that this was a third-party watermark placed there by someone who was neither the artist nor publisher and so it violates our Terms of Service.
