I don't understand fully why this gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=4204679 was removed. Yes it's by a non Japanese artist but generally if the art was high quality enough and loyal to the style it would be fine as to my underdtanding. The art is high quality, got a fair amount of upvotes and Psyclopathe has other works on this site so I think it deserves to stay.

The art-style/quality was bad and it had JPEG artifacts.

Gelbooru is not meant to be used as a place to store images.

You can click "Original image" to view the original image.

It wasn't deleted for being off-topic, it was deleted because cosplaydeviants.com is a paysite. Do not upload these.

Hi. I am confused
gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=4150373
It says that it is "inferior", but what does that mean?? Both share the same resolution, while I propely posted the source from the artist... and mine was even posted first.

I don't remember if I edited it in any way, but I doubt this was case...

This artist also uploaded to pixev. post #4228129

Pixiv is a true image sharing site and allows people to view the original art as the artist has uploaded it.

The image you posted is from a Twitter account. Twitter is not a true image sharing service and compresses the images posted there to a noticeably poor extent. The deleted image has a lot of noticeable compression artifacts that the pixiv version does not have. We always keep the original or better-quality version of an image so if an image appears on both pixiv and Twitter you should only upload the pixiv version. That your upload was first doesn't matter.

By saying "I uploaded it first" I meant that the Twitter one was the first one posted by the artist. There wasn't another one for me to choose from that one time I uploaded it.
Also, this wasn't the case, but "it got upload first" means that it is no dupe (it kinda clashes with the "we always keep the -original- or better-quality version" as in "a dupe is fine if it meets our criteria")

Anyway, I understood, I am surprised, but I understand: to prioritize Pixiv. And it's weird, considering Twitter it's just a site, a service for users or artists: an artist may not care at all if Twitter is "a true image sharing site" or not, so the artist will just post there, because the artist just feels like to, and that's the source of his/her works. and so, as such, all the artist's works will be compressed, so, by default, no Twitter uploads, according to the "high definition" rule. Lastly, Pixiv is just a place for artists, but you can share images on many sites.

It just got me thinking, that maybe tomorrow an artist will post to Pixiv a work already posted on Twitter, and so, the previous Twitter upload (by we users) will end up being "obsolete"... and maybe, our Twitters uploads will be deleted.. a clean-up..
