Accounts cannot be deleted. Content posted by the user will not be deleted unless it violates our Terms of Service or content guidelines. (DMCA of self-uploads not withstanding.) Content creators still have rights to their work and may submit a DMCA request to have it removed. Otherwise content submitted to Gelbooru belongs to the community not the user who uploaded it. Profiles are not removed. User names are not freed-up. Contributed content will still be associated with the account. Your account may be banned. If banned you can no longer submit content to Gelbooru. (Posts, comments, forum posts, wiki edits etc.) We want to avoid doing this if not necessary as banning an account also permanently banns all IP addresses used by that account to contribute content to Gelbooru preventing anyone else using those IP addresses for contributing.
We recommend you change your password to some long string of random characters to make it less likely that you or anyone else can log into that account. Then stop using the account.
We've been getting this question several times per week and I've been led to believe that it was a trolling campaign.
We probably had 5 different "delete my account" topic in the past week.
You seem genuine, so yes I agree with you it sucks you can't delete your account. The admins and site workers should really look into changing that.
Thanks for the kind words! I do hope this "delete my account" situation ends soon. I wasn't familiar with how forum works, I should have read the faq before posting, I've just done it and there everything is crystal clear. Maybe I should have read them even before creating the account, but anyway. :)

Thanks for everything, I know it's all written in the faq, my bad for not having read it before. I will decide what to do in the next days, I didn't upload any image so maybe it's not a big deal anyway. Who knows, maybe I will keep using the account, this experience was not too bad in the end. I'm a bit shy online, but this thread maybe helped me overcome my fear to interact online a bit, even if that was not the objective in the first place. :)

So what about a dynamic IP? An IP used by multiple people like a campus or a library? That IP gets banned and everyone who accesses it is shit out of luck?

Basically. I've gotten ban screens on my phone before plucking IP's out of the ether from the nearest cell tower. Turning off and on Airplane Mode usually resets it. Why do you think most VPN's are pretty useless here.
