Anime figures
Posted on: 04/12/24 12:49AM

I know I said the last post was the third and final one regarding this topic, but since it's on my mind, I wanted to ask about anime figurines and if it's weird for adults to collect them. Again, I don't care to be judged because I live alone, but I started collecting them about a year or two ago. Really liking them to the point of spending $1000+ and running out of space on my desk. Does anyone collect them? Are you ashamed?

I kinda do collect them myself, and I am NOT ASHAMED ABOUT IT!!!!!shaming yourself for having a hobby like this is a life problem, don't listen to those pesky anti-anime jerks who always attempted to shun anyone whose hobby is collecting girly figures..

they themselves collected equally corny action figures, you don't want that on your table..do you?

They're meant for adults to collect, mainly. Aside from prize figures most are priced in a way I don't think many younger people could afford them, very well have space for a bunch.

I'm a little embarrassed how much I've spent on figures but I'm not ashamed or embarrassed by my collection itself. I'm hoping to get more shelves to display more of them in the near future.

Definitely 4, don't think I'm close to 5 digits. Total merch might get closer to 5.

I mainly get scale figures and those add up quick.

I probably spent a good amount of money on Lucky Star merch back in the day.

But it was never just figures. Wallscrolls, dakimakuras, mousepads, doujinshi, a plush, a coffee mug, set of playing cards, etc, I diversified.

Hell I sold off some of my figures when I moved out, so I just have a few now to represent current things I like.

1/4 scale Konata statue. (That will stay with me, that is the centerpiece. lol)
Banpresto, Lupin the Third statue
Popup Parade, Nekomata Okayu (Hololive) statue
(Henya the Genius, Youtooz on preorder)

I might expand the collection again in the future, but I'm of no huge desire. :P

man just enjoy what you enjoy

adulthood doesnt mean anything except you're now free to do what you want without having to conform to what anyone else thinks. if its weird who cares.
