40 years ago, the first chapter of Dragon Ball was released.

Thank you so much, Akira Toriyama!

*oh the contraire, kiddo. Dragon Ball Super and GT were staring cheekily at you*...things turn for the worse when his apprentice illustrator,Toyotaro, stepped in,and it won't be the same ever again...Dragon Ball is all about that "IT'S OVER 9000!!"™ feel, and let's not forget Dragon Ball Z (everyone's favorite,no matter if it's for the first timer,or die-hards)

I saw both Dragon Ball Super movies in theaters and it was the most fun I've had in so long! RIP!

Fun Fact, I... (embarrassingly) not only never watched DB/DBZ as a kid, but I lowkey kind of disliked the show because I was way too into powerscaling, and I hated when DBZ characters would easily beat my favorite characters. Later on, I would grow to respect it, but I never really got the hype around it.

But, after seeing this clip of DBZ Kai (www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eo1SzVoa4AU&ab_channel=YoMama), I legit had this reaction: www.youtube.com/watch?v=30Ysa3A2WMU&ab_channel=Regan

Anyway, I read and massively enjoyed the manga afterwards; so thank you Mr. Akira Toriyama for everything and rest easy.

GT

GT is actually good. Sure it has flaws and rightfully call out for it, I too don't like the shit it's spewing, but most of the time it had a genuine entertainment and it's actually emotional.

If only he were alive to celebrate its anniversary. Dragon Ball, without any exaggeration whatsoever, changed the world.

What a legend. RIP Akira Toriyama.

Thanks for giving all my friends reasons to drink monster energy and pretend they’re going super saiyajin 3, Dragon Ball.

A bit late, but oh well.

Toriyama's passing was definitely one of the more unpleasant surprises of this year, and I will miss him. The Dragonball Z of his most famous creation while not my first anime pretty much sealed the deal in making me a anime, and I appreciate that

Rip Toriyama.
